the good the bad and the ew

kk so, he asked me what the good the bad and the ew were about him. (why is he asking me? i'm not the girl of his dreams, i'm just the friend!) i was like, LMAO u so DON'T want to be askin me that! but he's persistant, so, here we go:
  • he's really really sweet and caring and romantic (yeah, a guy like this? who'da thunk it?) which is a good. but he also shows signs of being clingy (ew! guys don't like clingy women so why would women want clingy guys???)
  • he's fairly clean cut (which is very cool, given how sloppy current fashions look) ... if he wants to get ahead with her, he'll need to let his hair grow a little (she can't run her fingers through his short short hair) and he'll need to start dressing more like an adult (sry, but if he really likes that she's so mature, maybe he needs to look in the mirror and figure out what's wrong with this picture??? guys in baggy tshirts and baggier pants or shorts should stop and remember that women have eyes too ... she won't admire ur *ss if she can't see it for all the denim LOL)
  • he's pretty clean in terms of life style ... doesn't drink, smoke, do drugs, which is awesome!!! ... but he's also kind of a geek ... son ... step awayyyyy from the puter!!! get ur butt outside and get a tan why doncha?
  • and speaking of appearance ... if he likes how buff she looks, maybe he might want to consider what she sees when she looks at him??? not sayin he has to go full on with gold's gym or anything, cos i know that wouldnt appeal to her ... but getting into decent shape is a good thing cos she's kind of a health nut

think what it basically boils down to is, he's older than she is by at least a year ... but her friends tease her that she's rockin the cradle when she's with him cos he LOOKS younger than she is. he loves how mature she is and looks ... he should work on making it a mutual thang.

hmmm ... whole thing sounds kind of mean i guess. but if he didn't wanna know, he shouldn't have asked me what i think?

chain maille obsession?

have been afk learning how 2 make chain maille. can't pronounce em worth a dayum, but the plan is 2 make a hauberk and coif (basically a long vest and helmet). wow.

last night we did a marathon weave session and got a quarter of the hauberk done. actually, the hardest part -- the middle of the front, including designing the v-neck cos it just looks kewler than a square neck or rounded neck, yanno? yeah chain maille stylin LOL

have learned a lot about this schtuff so far. this bitty town suxxors for supplies *sigh* after hitting every hardware place i could think of (walmart had the best supply) i ended up at farm supply places, in the (ready 4 this???) ELECTRICAL FENCING section OMG!!

hauled the schtuff home and guess what ... 14 gauge makes very kewl links but its harder than schitt to coil evenly by hand. 16 gauge looks okay, but it was difficult to find in 1 mile spools (yeah, electrical fencing saves the day??).

...and i can't lift a 1 mile coil of 14 gauge steel ... which is hilarious since that's about what one set will take (we estimate) ... of course, we could go wimpy and use aluminium i guess LOL

finally figured out how to rig some jigs for speed coiling the wire, and then cutting the coils in even loops. this part wasn't too expensive since we had lots of wood and power tools ... just had to find the steel rods in the right lengths (so NOT into breaking out welding supplies to cut and bend rods)

actually, this first set is using 4 in 1 (the most basic weave) ... and i can't wait to find a good source for brass and copper cos i want to do one in elfweave next. don't know anyone who'd want to actually WEAR elfweave ... if u think a mile of 16 gauge steel is heavy, u don't wanna consider what would work out to 1.75 miles of metal LOL
